Accessibility statement

We build and test this site to WCAG 2.2 at level AA (ISO/IEC 40500:2025), using EN 301 549 as our checklist.

How we test

Automated checks run on every page in both themes at five widths, with motion on and off. Before each release, a person also checks the site with a keyboard and a screen reader.

Motion, and how to turn it off

Some parts of this site move as you scroll: the brain at the top of the home page, two walk-throughs, and two small figures that stay at the top of their section while you read the words below them. Each one has a link to skip it or buttons to step through it, and the words carry its meaning. With Motion off or reduced motion, everything shows finished and nothing is held in place.

The Legend in the header has a Motion switch. With motion off, and whenever your device asks for reduced motion, every page shows its finished state and every control still works.

Pause everything moving, also in the Legend, stops whatever is moving without changing your Motion setting. Anything that moves by itself for more than five seconds has its own pause as well.

Every canvas and drawing is decorative. Its meaning is always in the text beside it.

The Legend also has a Solid surfaces switch. It draws the header, menus and sheets with solid backgrounds in place of see-through glass, which can be easier to read. The site saves your Motion, theme and Solid surfaces choices in your browser, each one only once you make it.

Figures and the keyboard

Every drawn figure is real text underneath, and every figure you can operate works with a keyboard and by touch, with a button for anything you would otherwise drag.
